Our Programs & Services

At Ascend Youth Services, we believe in meeting young people where they are, addressing their most urgent needs, and walking beside them as they work toward stability, growth, and leadership. Our programs are designed not just to intervene in times of crisis — but to build strong, lasting foundations for a lifetime.

Youth Mentorship Program

A powerful relationship with a positive adult role model can open doors, restore hope, and change a life.
Our Youth Mentorship Program pairs boys and girls ages 10–24 with caring, committed mentors who offer guidance, encouragement, and life coaching.

Program Features:

  • Career Coaching: Helping youth explore career options, prepare resumes, and develop workplace skills.
  • Leadership Development: Building decision-making, communication, and confidence through workshops and personal coaching.
  • Academic Tutoring: Supporting students with tutoring, study sessions, and education planning.
  • Critical Thinking & Emotional Discipline: Teaching problem-solving, emotional regulation, and responsible decision-making.
  • Artistic Expression: Encouraging creativity and self-expression through music, art, and writing.
  • Life Skills for Real-World Readiness: Training in budgeting, job readiness, college applications, and social-emotional development.

Why It Matters:
Youth who have mentors are more likely to graduate, avoid risky behaviors, and pursue meaningful careers — creating ripples of positive impact within their families and communities.

Youth Re-entry Housing & Shelter Program

For youth involved in the justice system or those facing homelessness, the path to independence is often uncertain. Our Youth Re-entry and Housing Program provides safe, transitional housing for young people aged 12–24, giving them stability, structure, and support. Program Services:
  • Safe, Supportive Housing: Transitional housing for justice-involved or unhoused youth.
  • Mental Health Counseling: On-site and referral-based services for trauma, anxiety, and emotional wellness.
  • Job Readiness & Employment Support: Job training, resume assistance, interview preparation, and employment placement.
  • Substance Abuse Support: Access to counseling, recovery services, and wellness programs.
  • Critical Thinking & Life Skills Development: Classes and one-on-one coaching in financial literacy, goal setting, conflict resolution, and healthy relationships.
Why It Matters:  Youth who lack stable housing are more likely to return to incarceration, drop out of school, or experience long-term homelessness. Safe, structured environments improve outcomes dramatically.

Violence Prevention Program

In communities facing poverty and injustice, violence often feels inevitable — but it’s not. Our Violence Prevention Program addresses the root causes of youth violence through prevention, outreach, and intervention services. Program Focus Areas:
  • Community Outreach: Partnering with local schools, organizations, and families to offer resources and build safer neighborhoods.
  • Conflict Resolution Training: Teaching young people anger management, problem-solving, and peaceful conflict strategies.
  • Intervention & Support: Offering mentorship, crisis intervention, and safe alternatives to gang involvement or retaliation.
  • Mental Health & Trauma Support: Providing access to mental health services and trauma-informed care.
  • Youth-Led Leadership Initiatives: Empowering youth to lead outreach campaigns, educational workshops, and advocacy projects.
Why It Matters:  Youth violence is a leading cause of death in marginalized communities. Prevention programs can dramatically reduce violent incidents, build trust, and help create safer environments for everyone.
